Eligibility Criteria For Greater Minnesota
Greater Minnesota clients can call 1-800-842-7279
- Client must be in a participating utility's service area.
- Client needs to have a "Shut Off" notice.
- Income level at or 50% of state median income.
- There must be some type of emergency that caused the bill not to be paid.
- Elderly and disabled are given special consideration.
- Assistance is limited to $400.00.
- A "Last Resort"- clients must try other public resources first.
i.e., Energy Assistance or County Emergency Assistance.
- Assistance once per 12 months.
- Budget Counseling and Case Management available.
